Nacho Gil

Gil's 2017/18 season, read from the numbers

In 2017/18, Nacho Gil was used in rotation for Las Palmas in the La Liga: 14 appearances and 729 minutes, averaging 52 minutes per outing. Per 90 minutes that is 1.2 key passes per 90 and 2.0 ball recoveries per 90 — the rate profile behind Gil's totals.

Gil played 257 passes — 31.7 per 90, which is the volume that decides whether a side builds through him or around him. Our records cover 2 seasons of Gil's career, 2016/17 to 2017/18, across 2 clubs — Valencia, Las Palmas. In that time he has played 26 matches across 2 competitions, 1,276 minutes in all.

Treat these rates carefully. At 729 minutes — roughly 8 full matches — Gil is 171 short of our 900-minute qualifying floor, so he does not appear on the ranking boards: on a sample this size two good afternoons move a per-90 number further than a month of steady form.

How these scores are built, and the minutes and rating floors a player must clear to appear on our boards, are set out in our methodology.
