Javi Muñoz

Muñoz's 2025/26 season, read from the numbers

In 2025/26, Javi Muñoz was used in rotation for Getafe in the La Liga: 17 appearances and 560 minutes, averaging 33 minutes per outing. The number that flatters him most is match rating — 836th of 978 midfielders and inside the top 85%.

Per 90 minutes that is 1.1 key passes per 90, 0.0 assists per 90 and 2.4 ball recoveries per 90 — the rate profile behind Muñoz's totals. The profile is lopsided rather than complete: measured against midfielders, Muñoz sits in the top 39% for shot conversion but only the top 69% for tackling volume.

Set against Muñoz's own record, 2025/26 reads differently: he is playing far less than he once did — 560 minutes against 2661 at his peak; his average match rating has slipped from 6.89 to 6.53 since 2024/25. Our records cover 5 seasons of Muñoz's career, 2019/20 to 2025/26, across 5 clubs — Alaves, Tenerife, Mirandes, Las Palmas and others. In that time he has played 148 matches across 3 competitions, 10,026 minutes in all.

His best return on our records was 3 assists in 2020/21, from 40 appearances. He is 20 appearances into the current one. Treat these rates carefully. At 560 minutes — roughly 6 full matches — Muñoz is 340 short of our 900-minute qualifying floor, so he does not appear on the ranking boards: on a sample this size two good afternoons move a per-90 number further than a month of steady form.

How these scores are built, and the minutes and rating floors a player must clear to appear on our boards, are set out in our methodology.
