Rafa Marín

Marín's 2026/27 season, read from the numbers

In 2026/27, Rafa Marín was used in rotation for Napoli in the Serie A: 5 appearances and 446 minutes, averaging 89 minutes per outing. He grades out best for match rating — 98th of 905 defenders and inside the top 11%.

Per 90 minutes that is 2.2 tackles per 90, 1.4 interceptions per 90 and 42% of his duels won — the rate profile behind Marín's totals. The profile is lopsided rather than complete: measured against defenders, Marín sits in the top 23% for goalscoring but only the top 61% for shot conversion.

Set against Marín's own record, 2026/27 reads differently: he is playing far less than he once did — 536 minutes against 2460 at his peak. Our records cover 4 seasons of Marín's career, 2023/24 to 2026/27, across 3 clubs — Alaves, Napoli, Villarreal. In that time he has played 114 matches across 5 competitions, 5,997 minutes in all.

His best season on our records was 2025/26, when he averaged 7.03 across 31 appearances. On our positional score Marín rates 39 out of 100, 103rd of 304 qualified players — inside the top 34%. Relative to what each component is worth, his strongest is interceptions.

How these scores are built, and the minutes and rating floors a player must clear to appear on our boards, are set out in our methodology.
