Nani

Nani's 2024/25 season, read from the numbers

In 2024/25, Nani was used in rotation for Estrela in the Primeira Liga: 9 appearances and 465 minutes, averaging 52 minutes per outing. Per 90 minutes that is 0.2 goals per 90, 0.4 shots per 90 and 50% of his shots on target — the rate profile behind Nani's totals.

Nani played 208 passes — 40.3 per 90, which is the volume that decides whether a side builds through him or around him. Set against Nani's own record, 2024/25 reads differently: he is playing far less than he once did — 465 minutes against 2233 at his peak.

Our records cover 3 seasons of Nani's career, 2016/17 to 2021/22, across 6 clubs — Valencia, Portugal, Lazio, Venezia and others. In that time he has played 97 matches across 8 competitions, 5,440 minutes in all. His best return on our records was 10 goals in 2021/22, from 39 appearances. The current campaign has yet to give him a run.

Treat these rates carefully. At 465 minutes — roughly 5 full matches — Nani is 435 short of our 900-minute qualifying floor, so he does not appear on the ranking boards: on a sample this size two good afternoons move a per-90 number further than a month of steady form.

How these scores are built, and the minutes and rating floors a player must clear to appear on our boards, are set out in our methodology.
