Mikel Oyarzabal

Oyarzabal's 2026/27 season, read from the numbers

In 2026/27, Mikel Oyarzabal was used in rotation for Real Sociedad in the La Liga: 7 appearances and 478 minutes, averaging 68 minutes per outing. His standout number is match rating — 41st of 702 attackers and inside the top 6%.

Per 90 minutes that is 0.0 goals per 90, 1.5 shots per 90 and 63% of his shots on target — the rate profile behind Oyarzabal's totals. The profile is lopsided rather than complete: measured against attackers, Oyarzabal sits in the top 2% for goalscoring but only the top 27% for shot conversion.

Set against Oyarzabal's own record, 2026/27 reads differently: he has managed 15 in a season before, so 8 is well short of his own mark; he is playing far less than he once did — 1344 minutes against 3160 at his peak. Our records cover 12 seasons of Oyarzabal's career, 2015/16 to 2026/27, all of it at Real Sociedad. In that time he has played 446 matches across 4 competitions, 32,473 minutes in all.

His best return on our records was 18 goals in 2024/25, from 53 appearances. He is 8 appearances into the current one. Oyarzabal has 41 appearances in UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League on our records, and the level holds either way, 0.34 per 90 domestically against 0.36 in Europe.

Oyarzabal has reached 15 goals in a season 3 times, between 2021/22 and 2025/26 — a level held rather than found once. Away from his club, Oyarzabal has 46 appearances for Spain on our records, scoring 21 — across World Cup - Qualification Europe, Euro Championship and UEFA Nations League.

On our positional score Oyarzabal rates 54 out of 100, 27th of 126 qualified players — inside the top 22%. Relative to what each component is worth, his strongest is shot conversion.

How these scores are built, and the minutes and rating floors a player must clear to appear on our boards, are set out in our methodology.
