What “Top 5 leagues” means on TackleZone

3 min read · Updated 21 August 2026

On Rankings and Stats, “Top 5” means Europe’s five major domestic leagues: the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1. Player pools for those boards are limited to those competitions so leaders are comparable within a consistent, high-level sample.

Matches and live scores can still surface other featured competitions — for example the Champions League — because fixture browsing is a different job from season-long ranking. The Top 5 filter is specifically about who appears on ranking and stats leaderboards.

Focusing on five leagues keeps the product sharp. Mixing every domestic league worldwide into one “top tackles” list makes comparisons noisy: minutes, tactical styles, and data coverage vary too much. Top 5 gives a clear scope fans already understand.

You can still open an individual league filter inside Stats or Rankings when you only want Premier League scorers or Serie A creators. “Top 5” is the default all-leagues view for those pages, not a claim that no other football matters.

Data for fixtures and season stats is supplied via API-Football. TackleZone adds ranking formulas, compare verdicts, minutes rules, and presentation — the layer that turns raw numbers into a usable football tool.
